Richard L. Bell, age 63, of rural Richland Center died suddenly of a heart attack on Saturday, October 6, 2012. He was born November 3, 1948 in Bloomington, IL, the son of Darwin A. and Betty (Wherry) Bell. Rick was a 1966 graduate of Stephen Decatur High School in Decatur, IL. He married Deanna Shaver in 1971. They raised two children: Theresa and Richard. Rick and Deanna have lived in nine different states, 17 different cities thanks to work opportunities. Rick has played guitar all of his life, and his love of music allowed him to participate in several bands. He was a passionate fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, the Dallas Cowboys, and anything related to corvettes.

Survivors include: his wife of nearly 42 years, Deanna Bell of rural Richland Center, their children: Theresa Bell of Madison, Richard (Marybeth) Bell of Decatur, IL, five grandsons: C J, Trystan, Jarred, Tanner and Tyler Bell of Decatur, IL.  Rick was preceded by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the PRATT MEMORIAL CHAPEL. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM. The family suggests memorials in Rick’s name be directed to the American Cancer Society, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, or to the American Heart Association. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is serving the family of Rick Bell.
