Ralph W. Brown, age 81, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 24, 2016, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on Jan. 14, 1935, in Lodi, the son of Ralph and Ellen (Johnson) Brown. Ralph proudly served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a letter carrier for U.S. Postal Service. Ralph was a devout Wisconsin sports fan, who was passionate and knowledgeable about all sports and the history of them. He loved his family above all else and passed on many great lessons that have spannedgenerations. He was humble and soft spoken, with a wonderful sense of humor. Ralph enjoyed nature and animals, especially his two cats, Jake and Rosie. Ralph is survived by his wife Joyce; four sons, Steve Brown, Jeff (Kristi) Brown, Scott (Kelli) Brown, and Eric (Alexandra) Brown; three sisters, Mary (Don) Erickson, Judy Stadler, and Laura (Gary) Middleton; sister-in-law, Judy Brown; and six grandchildren, Abigail, Audrey, Megan, Emily, Brooke and Jace. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roger Brown; and brother-in-law, Lee Stadler. In accordance to Ralph's wishes, no formal services will be held. Memorials may be made in Ralph's name to Agrace HospiceCare, 5395 E. Cheryl Pkwy, Fitchburg, Wis.
