JANESVILLE---Peggy Ann Wilhite, age 56, of Rockford, formerly of Janesville, fought an honorable and courageous fight with ovarian cancer and outlasted her prognosis. She was promoted to Glory on March 22, 2013. Peggy was born in Janesville on July 18, 1956, the daughter of James Arthur and Patsy (Powell) Frusher. She grew up in Janesville, graduated from Parker High School in 1974 and was very active with the Salvation Army. Activities included Girl guards, Corps cadets, and Sunbeam leader. In August 1974, she married Dennis Garthwaite and enjoyed his love of cars. Many years after their divorce, Peggy married Ronald Wilhite on July 11, 1986 in Rockford. Peggy had managed restaurants for her first 20 years of employment and for the past 18 years worked at the Motorola Solutions. She loved to travel and do anything involving arts and crafts.
She leaves behind her father, James Arthur of Edgerton; sisters, Nancy (Scott) Usher of Milton and Bernice Martin of Janesville; brother, Michael Frusher of Peoria, AZ; husband, Ronald; step-son, John Wilhite both of Rockford; step-sisters, Kathy Lewis, Jackie Miller, Linda Frusher; step-brother, Bob Frusher; special aunt, Mary Millard; special niece, Christy Mansfield; her cat Pumpkin; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Patsy Frusher; a brother, Ronald Arthur; and a nephew, Edward Mansfield.
Services will take place on 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY, 1800 E. Racine St., Janesville. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
