Pearl I. Reger, age 75, of Highland, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 12, 2013 following a long illness. The former Pearl French was born on March 4, 1937 in Madison to Floyd and Elizabeth (Franklin) French. She married Joseph Conner in 1953 and they were together for 18 years. Pearl married Arnold “Bud” Reger on September 27, 1971 and he preceded her in death on January 7, 1989. Pearl was a farmwife for many years with both Joseph and Bud and also worked summers at the Cobb Canning Co. for many years. She enjoyed reading, playing cards with her “own rules”, fishing and going out to eat with her family. Her greatest joy was the time spent with her children and grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; an infant child; a grandson, Russel Bymaster; a great granddaughter, Lybertie Davis and a special niece, Valarie Conner.

Pearl is survived by six daughters, Johanne Bymaster of Lancaster, CA; Mary Towsley of Blue River; June Hlavac of Montfort; Laurie (Cary) Turner of Prairie du Chien; Threasa (Bruce) Ramsden of Blue River and Carolyn Reger of Highland; two sons, Paul (Robin) Conner of Lone Rock and Eugene Conner of Boscobel; 19 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren as well as other relative and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at the McGuire-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home in Highland. Pastor Douglas Larson-Sell will officiate with burial in the Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday after 10:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Iowa County Humane Society would be appreciated.
