Norma I. Nodorft

Norma I. Nodorft, 83, of Platteville, died on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Lancaster Care Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Robert Eberhardt will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.melbyfh.com.

Norma was born on August 7, 1929, the daughter of Irvin C. and Edith J. (Divine) Lawton in Madison, WI. She graduated from Spooner High School and attended the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis. She then returned to Rice Lake and trained as a non-licensed practical nurse. She then worked for four years as receiving clerk and manager of Herberger’s Department Store in Rice Lake. She then moved to Evanston, Illinois for four years, where she met George Nodorft. They were married on February 28, 1959 and they moved to Platteville that year. Norma was well known for her salt and pepper collection and her cook book collection. She was also a local Tupperware dealer. While in Platteville she worked at Radio Shack and other places.

She is survived by two sisters-in-law; Shirley Nodorft and Irma Nodorft; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers; Alvin and Charles Lawton, and one sister in infancy.
