Age 95 of Monroe, died Saturday, September 22, 2012 at St. Clare Friedensheim, Monroe. Mildred was born June 6, 1917 in Mineral Point, WI, the daughter of Arthur and Harriet (Lindsay) Ryan. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1934 and attended Green County Normal School. Mildred taught country school in Green County prior to her marriage to Oscar A. Drye on June 1, 1937 at St. Victors Parsonage, Monroe. They farmed in Cadiz Township until moving to Monroe in 1971. Mildred worked as a secretary for Dick Young for several years until retiring. She has resided at St. Clare Friedensheim since 2000. Mildred had a passion for china painting, sewing, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by six children, John (Yvonne) Drye of Plains, Montana, Kay (James) LaBelle of Racine, WI, Karl (Ruth) Drye of Crystal Lake, IL, Joseph (Shirley) Drye of Browntown, JoAnn (Neil) Auer of Oshkosh, and Diane (Richard) Lorenzini of Antioch, IL; 20 grandchilden, Julie (Ron) Pasma, Jay (Lisa) Drye, Jodi (John) Ward, Jim (Sheila) Barmore, Christine (Gary) Erickson, John (Gretchen) Barmore, Bill (Stacy) Barmore, Susan (Rock) Smith, Andrea (Michael) Reynolds, Brian (Kristen) Drye, Dan (Valerie) Drye, Michael Drye, Patrick (Kristin) Drye, Tom (Angie) Drye, Devin (Sarah) Auer, Derek (Angela) Auer, Joseph Lorenzini, Tim Lorenzini, Andrew Lorenzini, and Steven A. Lorenzini; 32 great grandchildren; 5 great greatgrandchildren; a sister, Mary Patricia (Alan) Rockafield of St. Germain, WI; a son-in-law, Donald Barmore; and a daughter-in-law, Janice Drye. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oscar, on April 3, 1979; a daughter, Judy Barmore in 1997; two grandsons, Matthew LaBelle and infant Steven Lorenzini; a brother, Robert Ryan; and half-brother, Howard Ryan.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, with Rev. William “Mike” Heath of St. Johns United Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in Saucerman Cemetery, Cadiz Township, follow by a luncheon at the Drye family farm. Visitation will be held at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, on Friday, September 28th, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Mildred’s name to Apostolate to the Handicapped, St. Clare Friedensheim, or Monroe Clinic Hospice.
