Mary Lou Hainstock, age 84, of Janesville, died on Monday, Sept. 12, 2016, at UW Hospital, Madison. She was born in La Prairie Township on Dec. 20, 1931, the daughter of John and Alice (Murray) McCann. She married Dwight "Dyke" William Hainstock on Oct. 9, 1954, in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Janesville, and he preceded her in death on June 19, 2011. Mary Lou had been employed by Associated Collectors, and was a member of Nativity of Mary Catholic Church where she had been in charge of the funeral luncheons for many years, and a Eucharistic Minister and Lector. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, ABWA, and a volunteer for Agrace Hospice, and St. Mary's Hospital, Janesville. She was well known for her pies and cookies, which she loved to share with all of us.

Mary Lou is survived by her 3 children: Chuck (Sheila) Hainstock of Janesville, Larry (Amy) Hainstock of Janesville and Lori (Hoyt) Smith of Elkhorn; 7 grandchildren: Chris Hainstock, Mike (Staci Baker) Hainstock, Emma Hainstock, Allie Hainstock, Jason (Cindy Yourg) Smith, Adam (Dee Delvecchio) Smith and Maggie Smith; great grandchild, Lily Smith; and 3 siblings: Kathleen McNally of Janesville, Barbara Darcey of Sun Prairie, and Richard F. (Roberta) McCann of Janesville; many other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Nicholus Smith; 2 siblings, Joan and her husband, Jerry Emmerich and Mel and his wife, June McCann; and 2 in-laws, Hal McNally and Tom Darcey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, at NATIVITY OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, Janesville with Rev. Rob Butz and Rev. Stephen Umhoefer officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Church. Memorials may be made to Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, Janesville. SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY is assisting the family.
