Madison - Lorraine Homan DuRose, age 95, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016 at Oakwood West.
She was born on October 25, 1920 to August and Anna (Lange) Homan in Waterloo. Lorraine attended St. John Lutheran School and Waterloo High School. She had a long career working for the State of Wisconsin for over 50 years, until her retirement. Lorraine loved traveling, especially ski trips with her husband Stanley. She lived a very active life and enjoyed spending time outdoors. Lorraine was a phenomenal musician, and lent her lovely voice to family and friends weddings. She also performed with the Philharmonic Chorus of Madison. She adored visiting with family members, was a renowned storyteller, and always looked forward to her 4th of July family picnics. Lorraine was beloved by her many relatives for her unwavering support and generosity.
Lorraine is survived by her siblings, Jane DuBois, Robert (Ruth) Homan, and Roger (Colleen) Homan; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and her sisters Elverna DuBois, Geraldine Finder, and Barbara Abendroth.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2016 at ST. JOHN LUTHERAN CHURCH, 413 E. Madison Street, Waterloo, WI with Pastor Thomas Wilsmann presiding. A visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of service at church on Friday. Burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Agrace HospiceCare, 5395 E.
