Verona - Lorna M. Jordan, age 94, of Verona, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Four Winds Manor in Verona, where she had resided for the last five years. Lorna was born October 7, 1918 in Verona the daughter of William and Dora (Hagemann) Wild. She graduated from Verona High School in 1936 and moved to Washington D.C. She married W.E. Jordan in 1938. Lorna worked at Union Station and several cocktail lounges on Capitol Hill. Lorna and her son, Bruce, returned to Verona in 1950. She worked as a bookkeeper and accountant for Montgomery Ward on State Street, and Carmen’s and Woldenberg’s clothing stores before retiring in 1989. Lorna will be remembered as a “classy” and proud lady, always dressing to the hilt and every strand of hair always in place. She possessed a unique sense of humor and wit right to the end. Lorna will also be remembered as a devoted caregiver to her mother, Dora, as well as her cousin, Edna Bruni before their passing.

Lorna is survived by one son, Bruce (Donna) of Belleville; two grandchildren, Deanna (Ron) Stellrecht of Shell Lake, Todd (Tammy) Brey of Belleville; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Mikayla Brey. She is further survived by one sister, Louena Goodman, Madison; her brother, William F. (Genny) Wild, Jr. of Belleville; and many nieces, nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dora and William A. Wild; and three brothers, Oliver, Oscar and Curtis.

Bruce and Donna would like to thank the staff at Four Winds Lodge and Manor in Verona for providing Lorna with care, patience and compassion during her time there.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, Verona Chapel, 220 Enterprise Drive. Private burial services will follow at Verona Cemetery.
