MADISON-Lloyd H. Bruer, age 85, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, under the care of Agrace HospiceCare. He was born on July 28, 1927, in Madison, the son of the late Oscar and Hazel Bruer. Lloyd married Mary Lou Anderson on Jan. 19, 1968, in Madison. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp from 1945 until 1949. Lloyd worked at Madison Kipp Corp, and then UW Waisman Center until his retirement in 1992. He took great pride in his 30 years at the Waisman Center and the contributions he was able to make in the facilities research advancement. Lloyd was an avid golfer and card player. He was also a fan of the Brewers, Packers, and Milwaukee Braves.

Lloyd is survived by his son, Scott (Nicole); grandsons, Benjamin and Will; sister, Betty Harrington; nephew, Gary Harrington; niece, Joan Gorman; stepdaughters, Jackie Frisch and Debbie Anderson; stepson, Danny Spears; and special friend, Rose Roh. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nora (mother of Jackie); second wife of 36 years, Mary Lou (mother of Scott, Debbie, and Danny); sisters, Jean Bruer, Arlene Bruer, Barbara Dottl, and Dorothy Bartholomew; brothers, Roy and Donny Bruer; and brother-in-law and lifetime friend, Joe Dottl.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012. Burial will be at Prairie Mound Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until the time of service on Wednesday.Gunderson_Funeral
