Leland F. Janke, age 86 passed away at his home on Friday, February 15, 2013. He was born August 9, 1926, at this same location in Marquette County, the son of Henry and Elizabeth (Summerton) Janke.

In 1945 he married Lorella Reid. He enjoyed dairy farming, buying and selling cattle, training and raising horses, and playing cards.

Leland is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lorella; two daughters, and a son: Patricia (Paul) McMahon, Florida; Brenda (Melvin) Janke, Wisconsin, and Allen Janke, Wisconsin; four grandsons: Lee (Jeni) Miller, Ronnie (Pam) Miller, of Wisconsin, Jeffery (Courtney) McMahon, Florida, and Allen Janke, Jr., Wisconsin; three granddaughters of Wisconsin: Kelly (Jordan) Janke, Nicki (Ryan) Janke, and Heather (Steve) Janke; nine great grandchildren, and one great, great granddaughter, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Gloria Miller; his parents, and his sister and brother-in-law, Olive and Curtis Maloney and their son Dale Maloney.

A Memorial service will be planned for a later date.
