Larry Rehling, of Janesville, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, at Rock Haven Nursing Facility in Janesville, Wisconsin at the age of 74 due to complications from heart issues and renal failure. Benjamin and Marguerite (Southwick) Rehling brought Larry into the world on July 12, 1942, in Rochester, Minnesota. Graduating high school in Rochester, he went on to own 3 gas stations and married Jill Houston. They had a son and daughter and later divorced. Larry later married Nanette (Gesicki) Rehling, settling in Janesville, then having a daughter together and raising a stepdaughter. He also spent time in the Twin Cities and Eau Claire.

He felt blessed in this life with three children and one stepchild: son, Tim (Barb) Rehling of Eleva, WI, giving Larry two beautiful grandchildren, Autumn and Ben; daughter, Jody (Craig) O'Reilly of Pine River, MN, giving him a lovely grandchild, Lainey; daughter, Angela residing in Madison, WI; and stepdaughter, Kristina (Muryl) Olson in Rice Lake, WI. He is also survived by his sister, Luann (Roger) Harnesk, nephew, Judd and niece, Krista. Preceding him in death were his parents, and most sadly, his son, Tim, from a sudden car accident.

He was an avid auto racing enthusiast, football fan, loved restoring antique cars, fishing and boating, classic country music, and had a die-cast model car hobby. His family have many fond memories of boating and fishing with Larry, watching football games and the Grand Ol' Opry on TV, and being blessed with his wonderful heart. Everywhere he lived, he easily made great friends at local coffee shops, recently including Dunkin' Donuts and the Wedge Inn East Café in Janesville. And he loved his cat "Baby", regardless of the "love bites".

A Time of Sharing and Remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH located at 1909 Highland Ave., Janesville, on Saturday, October 1, 2016. There will be a service and slideshow followed by a gathering where memories can be shared with food graciously provided by Dunkin' Donuts, in loving memory. Memorials may be sent in care of SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, PO Box 71, Janesville, WI 53547.
