Juanita Lanz, age 86, passed away peacefully in Cross Plains, WI on October 3, 2016.

Juanita was born on June 25, 1930 in Hillsboro, WI to Ivan and Claire Bell, the oldest of 7 children. She grew up in Middleton, WI, where she met and married the love of her life, Albert Lanz on December 29, 1951. They spent 65 wonderful years together.

The couple raised 3 girls; Kristi, Darcy and Lisa in Madison, WI. After teaching for 35 years, they retired, to Manitowish Waters, WI. There they became involved in many active senior groups and travelled to interesting places. Juanita was a devoted and loving mother. She was very proud of her family and was "Nana" to her 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Juanita loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. Her creative endeavors included Navajo rug weaving, knitting sweaters, sewing and quilting and Door County retreats with her daughters.

She will be missed by all that knew and loved her. Juanita was the beloved wife of Albert Lanz, devoted mother of Kristi Peiss & her husband Joe, Darcy Lanz-Sage & her husband Scott, Lisa Detert & her husband Jon, and loving "Nana" of Niki, Kati, Andrew, Emily, Jamie, Dane, Evan, Ben, Cole, Halli and Henry. Juanita is further survived by her siblings Peter (Cindy) Bell, Roger (Suzy) Bell, Karen (Jim) Boley, Lila Taylor and Tim (Pat) Bell. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra (Bell) Thornell.

Family and friends will gather at the GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave, Middleton, on Saturday, October 15, 2016 for visitation from 2:00pm-3:00pm immediately followed by a Celebration of Life service at 3:00pm.
