Jeannette E. Strait, age 69, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, at home after a courageous two-month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on July 2, 1947, in Richland Center, the daughter of Jim Crapp and Philey (Harriman) Crapp.
She married Lloyd Strait on Nov. 16, 1968. Jeannette worked at Madison United Health Care Linens for over 25 years. In her spare time, she loved to read, do puzzles and play on her tablet. Jeannette loved to watch WWE Wrestling and was a dedicated Chicago Bears fan. Her true passion in life was spending time with her granddaughter and great-great niece. They were truly her world. Jeannette kept many birds over the years and they were her constant companions.
She is survived by her daughter, Lonnie; son, Dave; granddaughter, Taryn; sisters, Sheila Gray, Judy Rundle and Linnette Drake; special great-great niece, Kayden; special son, Joe Hyatt Jr.; her two parakeets; and many friends and family. Jeannette was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brothers, Vernon and Doug.
A Funeral Service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, with a luncheon to follow. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park, Monona. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
