Irma G. (Harms) Rut, age 95, of Muscoda, died on Monday, November 5, 2012. She was born in Muscoda on October 18, 1917, the daughter of Frank and Hilda (Lemke) Harms. Irma was united in marriage with James G. Rut in 1945, and she lived her entire life in Muscoda. Irma worked at Badger Ordnance two separate times. She also worked for two dentists: Dr. Marsh and Dr. Portman. She also managed two restaurants in Muscoda. Irma was well known for her caring ways, including babysitting and always helping others. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, which then became the United Church of Muscoda, Presbyterian, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Irma enjoyed attending ball games, especially with her sister Freda. Many will remember her Halloween costuming, also with her sisters Ollie and Freda. They frequently won first prize for their outfits.

Survivors include her daughter Lana (Jim) Kincannon, her sister Shirley Wardell, her brother Dan Harms, five grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Irma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Rut; three sisters: Leora Owens, Freda Wilkinson and Olive Hippenbecker; and her brother Martin Harms.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the UNITED CHURCH OF MUSCODA, PRESBYTERIAN, 402 N. Second Street, Muscoda. Burial will be in the Muscoda Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, November 9, 2012 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the GODAGER PRATT FUNERAL HOME in Muscoda or at the church on Saturday from noon until service time. The Godager Pratt Funeral Home of Muscoda is serving the Rut family.
