Helen M. Peterson, age 91, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012 at Greenway Manor in Spring Green. She was born on December 22, 1920 in Sauk City, the daughter of the late Joseph and Theresia (Haas) Lamberty. Helen farmed in Arena for many years and also worked at Arthur's Restaurant in Spring Green. She also loved to cook and bake for her family. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mill Creek. She was a foster grandparent at the Arena Elementary School for 15 years.
Survivors include her five children, Kenneth (Ruth Ann) of Darlington, Duaine (Debbie) of Plain, Linda Ruhland of Sauk City, Nancy Wilkinson of Arena and Rick (Jody Gall) of Arena, a sister, Irene (Jack) White of Arena, twenty grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren, many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by a son, Randy, two sons-in-law, Reginald Ruhland and Delbert Wilkinson, two great-grandchildren and three brothers, Roman, Alfred and Florian Lamberty.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 27 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, Mazomanie with Fr. Osvaldo Briones and Fr. Monte Robinson concelebrating. Burial will follow in the Arena Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 26 at Hooverson Funeral Home, Mazomanie.
Helen was a loving, caring mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed, The family wishes to thank Greenway Manor and Jody Gall for all the time and care of our mother.
