Grace E. Janes, age 93, of Janesville, died on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Nursing Home. She was born in Waukesha on Dec. 6, 1919, the daughter of Ned L. and Grace (Schurr) Branch. She graduated from school in Eau Claire, and married Marvin E. Janes in Eau Claire on June 7, 1938. He preceded her in death on April 12, 1987. Grace had lived most of her life in the Janesville area, having lived in Johnstown and then Milton. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Milton, and a member of the church choir. She loved to sing, and was a member of the Sweet Adeline's Janesville Chapter, and was a member of St. Paul's Choir in Leesburg, FL.

She is survived by her 10 children: Marvin T. Janes of Georgia, William L. (Suzanne) Janes, Sr. of Janesville, Robert P. (Theresa) Janes of Fort Atkinson, John D. (Katherine) Janes of Janesville, Daniel J. (Denise) Janes of Nebraska, Susan L. (David) Goldy of Florida, Michael P. (Margaret) Janes of Georgia, Elizabeth A. (Michael) Sneath of Georgia, Paul F. (Janet) Janes of Milton and Mary Ellen Lehmann of Florida; 26 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; numerous other extended family and friends. Grace was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant child, David P. Janes; 3 brothers: Don, Bob, and Ned Branch; and a good friend, Lou Cipro.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 837 Parkview Dr., Milton with Msgr. James Uppena officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Milton. Interment will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Milton. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY is assisting the family.

We would like to thank all the staff at St. Elizabeth Nursing Home for the loving care of our mother. She was treated like a queen, a princess and an extra mother and grandmother by so many.
