CROSS PLAINS-Gerald Marvin Kerl, died unexpectedly at home from natural causes on Monday, March 18, 2013. He was the son of Walter and Valeria (Marten) Kerl, born on April 1, 1949. Gerald was a 1967 graduate of Wisconsin Heights High School. He farmed in the town of Berry for several years, until becoming the Patrolman for the town of Black Earth. Gerald was an avid motorcycle rider and took great pleasure in making motorcycle trips to Sturgis, S.D. every year since 1990. He also took part in the MDA Ride sponsored by Sauk-Prairie Harley Davidson each year.

Gerald is survived by his brothers Delbert (Elfriede) and Orville (Ruth), nephews LeeRoy (Megg), Graig (Laurie), Keith (Colleen), and niece Barbara (Jeromy) Olson. He is further survived by great-nephews, great nieces, many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration to share memories of Gerry’s life will be held from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at GUNDERSON CROSS PLAINS FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 2421 Church St., Cross Plains. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Gerry’s name to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
