Gerald L. "Jerry" Kroll

Gerald J. “Jerry” Kroll, age 67, of Highland, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2012 at St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center following a brief illness. Jerry was born on June 22, 1945 in Dodgeville to Garold and Anna Marie (Imhoff) Kroll. He was a 1963 graduate of the Highland High School and served in the Army Reserves for many years. Jerry married the former Jane Eggers of Highland on October 26, 1968. Jerry worked for Gisholt for many years before moving back to Highland where he worked for Piericks Market, Highland Precision and retired from Universal Silencer in 2012. He was a member of Ss. Anthony & Philip Parish, the Robert Kail American Legion Post #442, the Knights of Columbus, the White Eagles and had served on the Highland Fire Department. Jerry enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, following his Wisconsin sports teams and tinkering in his garage. His greatest joy was time spent with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Marilyn Delkamp, Janet Damon and Nancy Goodwin; four sisters-in-law, Wanda Kroll, Beverly Damon, Donna Kosharek and Arlene Aide and three brothers-in-law, Bill McGill, Don Delkamp and Bill Damon.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Jane of Highland; four children, Joe (Teri) Kroll of Blue Mounds; Jackie Doolittle of Dodgeville; Jenell (Dale) Caygill of Merrimac and Jill (Bart) Imhoff of Highland; ten grandchildren, Evan and Gabe Kroll; Nichole, Lizzy and Garrett Doolittle; Hannah, Hayden and Isabell Caygill and Tristin and Tyson Imhoff and he was looking forward to their future brother in February. Jerry is further survived by four siblings, Kathleen McGill of Cross Plains; Mary Lou (Chuck) Lugge of Belleville, IL; Rick Kroll of Madison and Jim Kroll of Madison; his brothers and sisters-in-law, George Goodwin of Inverness, FL; Carolyn (Al) Kent and Jim (Dee) Eggers, all of Highland; Elaine (Ken) Nelson of Sun Prairie; David (Linda) Eggers of Beaver Dam, Linda Damon of Waunakee; Merle “Butch” Damon and Richard Aide, both of Madison and Dennis Kosharek of Highland as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Ss. Anthony & Philip Catholic Church in Highland with Fr. Kenneth J. Frisch officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and again on Wednesday after 10:00 A.M.

Jerry will live on in others through his final gift as an organ and tissue donor.
