Gary W. LeFoll, age 77, of Janesville, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday morning, Sept. 14, 2016, with his loving wife and family members by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Rockford, IL on Sept. 18, 1938, the son of Melvin A. and Mabel L. (Tubbs) LeFoll. His family moved to Janesville when he was a young boy. Gary attended Janesville Schools playing football and basketball in his high school years. He was in the class of 1958 and received his GED while serving in the U.S. Army. From 1964 to 1966, he was a part of the 9th Special Forces in Germany. Gary married his best friend, Gertrude Sullivan in 1972. They both loved fishing and spent many years angling the lakes of northern Wisconsin. They also spent several years wintering in Arizona and enjoyed visiting casinos. He was an avid golfer in his day, and loved aeronautics, and enjoyed watching the NASA channel. He was proud of his gardening expertise, sharing much of his product with family and friends. He loved all sports, especially the Badgers, Brewers, and most of all the Green Bay Packers… who are now minus one expert coach. He was a member of the American Legion Post 205. Gary was a kind, caring individual who was always willing to lend a hand to others.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gert; daughter, Michelle (Don) McNamer; son, Mark Davis; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Mel (Elaine) LeFoll; 2 brothers-in-law, Jerry (Julie) Sullivan, and Jerry Fox; and 4 sisters-in-law: Patricia (Gino) Casucci, Kathleen (Rolland) Amundson, Noreen (Craig) Hermanson and Jane (Bob) Townsend.
