MADISON- G. Mary Lord, age 93, passed away on Friday, Aug. 10, 2012. She was born to A. Edward and Emma (Nowak) Bock on Apr. 14, 1919 in Grant County. Mary married W. Harold Lord on Nov. 24, 1938, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Muscoda. They were blessed with 12 children and celebrated their 50th Anniversary on Nov. 24, 1988. Together, they farmed at Muscoda and Richland Center. In 1966, they moved to Madison where Mary worked at the Dane County Airport until her retirement in 1984. Mary was a member of St. Bernards Catholic Church and the Women’s Catholic Order of Foresters. She loved traveling, playing cards, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her children, Michael (Marieta) Lord of Portage, William (Kay) Lord of Big Rock, Ill., Jane (Arthur) Grunden of Sun Prairie, Samuel Lord of Oregon, Donald (Shari) Lord of Cottage Grove, Kathleen (Rick) Simmons of Broomfield, Colo., Susan (Kin) Miller of Westchester, Ill., Patricia (James) Riddle of Sun Prairie, and Barbara (Mark) Eggleston of Broomfield, Colo.; son-in-law, John (Mischelle) Reiners of Stoughton; 26 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lorraine (Clifford) Murphy of Soldiers Grove; sister-in-law, Anna Lord of Richland Center; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; son, Peter Lord; daughters, Jean Reiners and Mary Hewuse; son-in-law, Francis Hewuse; grandson, Marc Lord; and sisters, Mildred Mayfield, Loretta Keller, and Delores McMicken.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2450 Atwood Avenue, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, with the Monsignor Michael Hippee presiding. Entombment will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Memorials may be made to the memorial fund at St. Bernard Catholic Church or to Heartland Hospice, 2810 Crossroads Dr., Ste. 1300, Madison, 53718.
