Evan W. Larsen, age 80, of Wyoming Valley, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at the V.A. Medical Center in Tomah. Evan was born on January 23, 1932 in Dodgeville to Robert and Golda (Longseth) Larsen. Following graduation from the Spring Green High School, Evan enlisted in the U.S. Marines, serving during the Korean Conflict. He married the former Donna Stoltz of Richland Center on September 14, 1953. The couple farmed in Wyoming Valley their entire married life. Donna preceded him in death on December 14, 2002. Evan was an active member of the Wyoming Valley Methodist Church. He also served as a Wyoming Township Supervisor and on the A.S.C.S. Board for many years. Evan was happiest when he was combining. He also was an avid Allis Chalmers collector.
He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Linda Lewis in 2008 and Nancy Jo Larsen in infancy; his parents, Robert and Golda Larsen; two grandchildren, Joshua Larsen and Nancy Jo Lewis; two sisters, Gloria Andrews and Joyce McReynolds and a brother, Jim Larsen.
Evan is survived by his son, Jeff (Janis) Larsen of Arena; seven grandchildren, Heather (Jason) Meixelsperger; Wes (Billi Jo) Larsen; Drew Lewis; Amy Wingerson; Dustin Lewis; Troy Lewis and Hunter Mataya; seven great grandchildren; a brother, Bob (Joy) Larsen of Linden; two sisters, Barb Larson of Dodgeville and Grace Crook of Ridgeway; a sister-in-law, Joyce Larsen of Maurice, IA as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, August 12, 2012 at the Dodgeville United Methodist Church with Pastor Rom A. Pegram officiating. Friends may call at the church on Sunday after 1:00 P.M. Inurnment will be in the Spring Green Cemetery at a later date.
