MADISON-Elaine Ione (Sparks) Moran, age 87, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Oak Park Nursing Home with family at her side. She was born on July 11, 1925, to Calbert and Annabel Sparks. She was united in marriage to Darwin Moran on Oct. 12, 1946. Elaine worked for First Wisconsin Bank of Madison. After retirement she enjoyed spending time bowling and being with family.

Elaine is survived by her children, Steven (Janice) Moran, Connie Melter, Susan (Mike) Meyer of Madison, and Joni Bernau of McFarland; nine loving grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bill (Dorothy) and Jim Sparks; and two sisters, Betty (Don) Atkins and Pat Daggett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Darwin; and son-in-law, Lucas Bernau.

A Celebration of Life will be held at VFW POST NO. 8433, 5733 Cty CV, Madison, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2013. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Oak Park Place and Agrace HospiceCare for the loving care they gave mother during her stay. Mother’s wishes were to return to Minocqua, where she enjoyed many sunsets with family. Mom, it gives us comfort knowing that you’re with dad now. Until we meet again. Love always, your children.
