OREGON-Eeda L. Lumley, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Oregon Manor. She was born on June 2, 1924, in Oregon, the daughter of Axel and Nyna Johnson. She married Donald J. Lumley on Dec. 22, 1942.
Eeda graduated from Oregon High School. She worked for Wisconsin Bell Telephone for 29 years, retiring in 1982. Eeda was a life member of Telephone Pioneers of America, American Legion Auxiliary. She was Past Matron of Oregon Chapter No. 49 Order of Eastern Star, and was a founder and first president of the Oregon Area Historical Society.
Eeda is survived by many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband in 1971. An Eastern Star Funeral Service will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park Street, Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2012. Burial will be at Prairie Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Oregon Historical Society or the charity of donor’s choice.
