OREGON- 1 Corinthians 15:57 Thanks be to God, who gives us this victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! Edeltraut E. Cochran, age 89, of Oregon, passed away on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, leaving behind a daughter, Sibylla.
She was born on April 19, 1923, in Germany, the daughter of Karl and Hedwig Turban. Edeltraut was a devoted member of Faith Lutheran Church. She was an avid gardener and loved knitting. Edeltraut had an amazing gift when it came to growing both flowers and vegetables. She traveled extensively throughout Europe, before coming to Wisconsin in 1992.
Edeltraut is survived by her daughter, Sibylla Beyersdorf of Oregon; grandson, Scott (Shana) Beyersdorf of Milwaukee; granddaughter, Christine Beyersdorf of Madison; six great-grandchildren, Kristina (Scott) Howard of Minnesota, Emily (Ben) Raasch of Minnesota, Stephanie (Quon) Crockwell of Milwaukee, Melanie (LaJara) Owens of Milwaukee, Benjamin Beyersdorf of Milwaukee, and Cody Beyersdorf of Milwaukee; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dieter; and son-in-law, Gerry Beyersdorf.
Funeral services will be held at FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 143 Washington Street, Oregon, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, with the Rev. Karl Hermanson presiding. A time of fellowship will follow the service. Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church or Dane County Humane Society.
