Douglas James Droster, age 55, passed away on September 19, 2012, in Mansfield, LA. from multiple health issues. Douglas was born in Madison, WI. on October 1, 1956, the son of Wayne and Delores Olson Droster. Upon graduating in 1974, from Monona Grove High School, Monona, WI., Douglas proudly served in the U.S. Air Force at the Homestead AFB, Homestead, Fla. Douglas was assigned to the 31st Organizational Maintenance Squadron as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician advancing to Maintenance Specialist Crew Chief. Douglas’ lifelong occupation was in skilled forms of welding and pipefitting. Doug loved the outdoors and found solace and tranquility in the sport of fresh water fishing. Doug studied the Holy Bible fervently nourishing his steadfast Christian Faith.

Douglas is survived by his mother, Delores of Madison, WI; his wife, Linita of Framingham, MA.; daughter, Eireka of Jersey City, NJ.; three sisters, Lynn (DeWayne) Schwersinske of Madison, WI., Cara (Jon) Hartfield of La Crosse, WI., and Beth (Tony) Ryerson of Evansville, WI.; one brother, Greg (Sandy) Droster of Mount Horeb, WI.; nine nieces and nephews, Justin and Amanda Schwersinske, Phillip and Kathryn Hartfield, Ashton and Symantha Ryerson, Heidi, Neil and Karlei Droster; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Douglas was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Droster; paternal grandfather, Earl Droster; paternal grandmother, Mildred Schroeder; step-grandfather, Lawrence Schroeder; maternal grandparents, Tester and Clara Olson; an aunt, Louise Droster; and a cousin, Lori Olson Langer.

It was Doug’s wish upon his death that his body be laid to rest in Wisconsin. Douglas was peacefully laid to rest on September 25, 2012, in Hope Cottage Grove Cemetery, Cottage Grove, WI, during a private graveside service with his wife, his daughter, his siblings and their spouses, his nieces and nephews and his mother present sharing personal reflections, scripture readings and prayers. The Droster family wishes to express sincere appreciation to Lisa Bronk with Gunderson Funeral Homes in Monona, WI. for her comforting and supportive direction in Gunderson_Funeral handling and guiding the family through preparations and arrangements. “I will lie down in sleep and in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.” (Psalm 4:8)

Doug…. you are now safe in God’s protection, you are now safe in the Shepherd’s arms, Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Peace and love, Your Family.
