Dorothy C. Mehrkens

MADISON – Dorothy C. Mehrkens, age 90, of Madison, passed away on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at Skaalen Home in Stoughton. She was born on Sept. 27, 1922, the daughter of Joseph Skoien and Elsie (Jorgenson) Skoien. She married Thomas J. Reynolds. He preceded her in death on 1971. Dorothy later met and married Kenneth Mehrkens. She worked at Red Dot Potato Chip factory for many years on the production line and later at Colonial Manor Nursing Home as a kitchen helper.

Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Sharon Witt; a son, Tom (Jeanne) Reynolds; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and a sister, Joann Vike. She was preceded in death by her husbands; a brother, Lawrence Skoin; and a sister, Eleanor Gunderson.

Funeral services will be held at ST. STEPHENS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5700 Pheasant Hill Road, Monona, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, with the Rev. Tim Hansen and Rev. Nicholas Utphall presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the church.
