MADISON – Donald R. (Don) Deane, age 75, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2012. Born to Arnold and Jean (Jeanette E. Eroen) Deane on October 29, 1937. He was the oldest of three sons, the second being Kenneth J. (Ginger) Deane of Madison.
Don began his working career at Kayser Ford as an auto-truck mechanic where he worked for 7 years. He then founded his own auto-truck repair business. He shifted his career, after a very good friend introduced him to the field of HVAC, where he started Action Heating & Cooling, which he subsequently sold. Then he and his son started D & D Heating & Cooling.
Don was confirmed in his faith as a youth at Holy Cross Evangelical Lutheran church where he was a long-time member. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Cynthia; three children, Debra (Doug) Sevedge, Jim (Terri) Deane, and Diane (Chip) Thomas, two step-sons, Shandon (Cindi) Meden, and James (Anastasia) Meden, six grandchildren, Brandon and Hannah Sevedge, Mike and Jessie Deane, and Savannah and Jory Thomas, and four step-grandchildren, Meghan, Katie, Hathaway, and Noah Meden and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother David L. (Sandra) Deane, former wife June(Kosbau) Deane, and two infant sons, Richard and Robert.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013, with the Rev. Berndt Tweit presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2013, at the funeral home, and also from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
