Diane L. Richards, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Maplewood Nursing Home, Sauk City with her husband by her side after a six year battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) a rare brain disorder. She was born June 3, 1940 in Plain to the late Laddie and Irene (Alt) Kout. On April 14, 1959 she married Vilas "Bun" Richards in Sauk City. Diane enjoyed her job at the Sauk City Mobil for over twenty years. She was an avid collector of Owls and her leather work earned her many Blue Ribbons. She enjoyed reading novels, traveling and camping with Vilas. Diane enjoyed watching Nascar and the Green Bay Packers. She made several trips to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester to take part in studies that will be helpful to future (PSP) patients.
Diane is survived be her husband of 53 years, Vilas, sisters; Delores Pieper and Darlene (Ron) Endres. Sons; Rick (Sandy) Richards, Randy (Kim) Richards, and daughters; Renee (Ron) Eichmann and Rhonda (Mark) Pierick, five grandchildren and one great-grandson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by and infant son and infant grandson.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 24, 2012 at 11:30 am, at ST. ALOYSIUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Sauk City with Fr. John Blewitt officiating. Interment will be held at the St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visitaion will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2012 from 3:00pm until 6:00pm at the HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City and from 10:15am until 11:15am at the Funeral Home before Mass. Tha family would like to thank the staff at Maplewood and also Dr. John Koch and Dr. Keith Josephs at Mayo.
