Carol Schnering, age 92, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at Capitol Lakes Skilled Nursing. She was born on April 14, 1924, in Verona, the daughter of Anna and Albert Warner.

Carol graduated from Madison East High School with the class of 1941, then attended St. Mary's School of Nursing. She married Norman Schnering on August 7, 1948. She continued her studies to become an occupational therapist, where she worked at both the Lake View and Morningside Sanitoriums. Carol then became an underwriter with WPS Health Insurance. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, painting, crafts, saduko, puzzles and traveling; especially cruises. Carol became a world-wide traveler and wintered in Mesa, Ariz., for 25 years. She was an active member of Crossroads Church.

Carol is survived by her children; Linda (Tom) Doescher, Sandi (Don) Hendrikse and Dayna Schnering; six grandchildren, Keith (Kelly) Pietsch, David (Erin) Pietsch, Cortney (Andy) Doescher-Hino, Jael Doescher, Lori Hendrikse and Amanda Hendrikse (Zachary Bohne); seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; her parents; brothers; and infant son, David.

Funeral Services will be held at CROSSROADS CHURCH, 3815 S. Dutch Mill Rd., Madison, at 12 noon, on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona.
