Billie E. Caygill, 91, of Platteville died peacefully on Monday, November 19, 2012 at Manor Care Health Services, Platteville.
A celebration of life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 23, 2012 at the Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Billie E. Caygill Memorial Fund. Billie was born on November 2, 1921 in Leslieville, Alberta, Canada the daughter of Dave and Ada (Stephens) Crase. When Billie was a young girl both of her parents died in the same year and she was adopted by her uncle and aunt, Ed and Ella Bowden of Mineral Point, Wisconsin. She worked at the Burgess Battery Factory, farmed in the Linden, Wisconsin area and was a CAN at Bloomfield Manor, rural Dodgeville and at Gray’s Nursing Home, Platteville. For many years Billie worked at the Timber’s in Platteville where she was a manager.
Billie is survived by her son, Douglas (special friend, Julie Olson) Coons of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; daughters, Cindy Rasch of Dubuque; Kristine Duggan of Absarokee, MT; Janet (John) Duggan of Platteville; daughters-in-law, Karla Caygill of Highland, WI; Audrey Caygill of Shullsburg, WI; son, Lloyd Caygill of Highland; daughter, Evelyn (Hugh) Richardson of Texas; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and adoptive parents, sons, Edward and Fred Bradley Caygill, grandson, Chad Moen, great-grandson, Sheldon Williams, son-in-law, Paul Rasch, brother, Harold Crase, sisters, Helene Gunderson, Lucille Schwbiert, Cleo Crase, and Ada Melheim.
