MADISON-Betty Richmond, age 78, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, Apr. 11, 2013, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on Apr. 19, 1934, in Stoughton, the daughter of Erwin and Harriet (Baker) Nelson. Betty married Vernon Richmond on Aug. 31, 1957. She attended East High School and worked in the credit department at Sears. She retired from the Credit Bureau of Madison. Betty was a very active member of New Life Church and was a member of the “Around the Town Card Club”. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and gambling and playing cards. She looked forward to dinner every Sunday with her kids and grandkids. Betty also enjoyed a yearly trip to the Dells and watching the Packers.

Betty is survived by her husband of 55 years, Vern; children, Debra (David) Kohlwey, Vernon (Susan) Richmond, Dale (Kim) Richmond, and Valerie Sellner (Michael Raasch); grandchildren, Melissa Woch, Emily Woch, Jakob Woch, Hannah Woch, Christina Richmond, and Michael Richmond; brothers, Frank (Vi Anne) Nelson and Ed (Nancy) Nelson; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Betty will be held at NEW LIFE CHURCH, 7564 Cottage Grove Rd., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Apr. 16, 2013, with the Rev. Rob Carlson presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 4 until 7 p.m. on Monday, Apr. 15, 2013, as well as at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday.
