Betty Jean (Schultz) Paul

MADISON-Betty Jean (Schultz) Paul, age 69, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, surrounded by family and friends. She was born on Nov. 25, 1942, in Hustisford, daughter of Oscar and Evelyn Schultz. Betty married Philip Paul on Feb. 14, 1964 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Madison. She was a long time employee of Shopko. Betty was an avid gardener and loved to travel. She enjoyed knitting, baking, and playing cards with her friends. Betty took great joy in her grandchildren and in being involved in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives.

She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 48 years, Philip; children, Rod (Michelle), Cindy (George) Rasmussen, Debbie (Jose) Huichan; grandchildren, Reanna, Kaden, and Mari Rasmussen; brothers, Harvey (Nancy) Schultz, Duane (Betty) Schultz; sister, Doris Berger; and nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Harold Schultz; and brother-in-law, Fritz Berger.

Funeral services will be held at BURKE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5720 Portage Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, with Pastor Josh Ehrler presiding. Burial to follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. as well as at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Burke Lutheran Church or Agrace HospiceCare.
