Barbara J. Cullen, age 78, of Dodgeville, died on Friday, October 7, 2016 at Bloomfield Healthcare & Rehab following a long illness.

Barbara was born on October 19, 1937 in Milwaukee to Jess and Leola (Bevan) Cullen. The family moved to Dodgeville when she was 12 years old. She received her degree in Voice from the Chicago Conservatory of Music. Barbara married David Nishihira in 1962. They lived in Milwaukee where Barbara worked at Marshall Fields for many years. She was a member of the Dodgeville United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and had been active with the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. Her hobbies included needlepoint, knitting, crocheting and listening to old-time radio programs,

She was preceded in death by her parents and her former husband, David.
Barbara is survived by two sons, Gregory (Irene) Nishihira of Oceanside, CA and Jeffrey (Lucy) Nishihira of Evanston, IL; her sister, Terri Cullen of Dodgeville; a very special friend, Bill Vivian of Dodgeville as well as many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Dodgeville United Methodist Church. Pastor Jim Droste will officiate with burial in East Side Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday after 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the church choir would be greatly appreciated.
