Barbara A. Witzeling, age 80, of Madison, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Agrace Hospice on Friday, Jan 4, 2013. She was born on February 4, 1932, the daughter of Richard G. and Catherine S. (Hooper) Botham. Barb married Douglas Witzeling on June 28, 1952, at Blessed Sacrament Church. She was a lifetime Girl Scout, a member of the WOW’s, and a 50 plus year member of St. Dennis Catholic Church. The most important thing in her life was her family as she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Barb is survived by her husband of 60 years, Doug of Madison; ten children, Carol Witzeling of Madison, David (Jean) and their children, Douglas, Michael, Daniel, and Steven, all of Green Bay, John (Lorie Manteufel) of Waupaca, Ruth (Larry) Flescher of Whitewater, Thomas of Findlay, OH, Daniel (Dory) and their children, Zoe and Mari, all of Appleton, Steven of Murfresboro, TN, Jo Anne “Goldie” Bristol and her children, Hannah and Hayley, all of McFarland, Jenifer (Bruce) Davis of Madison, Kathleen Torbleau and her children, Justin, Joseph, and Emily, all of McFarland; two sisters, Catherine (Bill) Hagstrom and Marjorie (Jim) Upthagrove; and many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons-in-laws, Donald Itkin and Stan Fagerness; and three brothers, George, Dr. Richard J., and David Botham.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Barbara will be celebrated at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Rd., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013, with Father Kent Schmitt presiding. Mass will be followed by a Celebration of her Life in the St. Dennis Parish Center. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. Memorials may be directed to the Badgerland Council of Girl Scouts or Agrace HospiceCare.
