Wilfred E. "Willie" Bowar, age 84 died on Monday, October 7, 2013 at his home.

He was born in Pine Bluff on October 28, 1928, the son of the late Herbert and Anna (Bollenbeck) Bowar. He was united in marriage to AnnaBelle Kalscheuer on April 7, 1953 at St. John's Catholic Church, Waunakee. Willie was a lifetime member of the V.F. W. having served in the U.S. Army and deployed to Korea from 1951 to 1953. He lived and worked in Madison for 31 years, operating his own auto service and repair stations, retiring to Lake Wisconsin in 1985. He enjoyed fishing, golf, snowmobiling and was an avid motorhome traveler.

He is survived by his best friend and wife, AnnaBelle; two children, Gordy of San Jose, CA and Kay (Tom) Kohlman of Hatfield; three grandsons, Will Bowar, Dan Kohlman and T.J. Kohlman; two great grandchildren, Austin and Kaylee Bowar; four sisters, Betty Kessinich, Jeanette (Lefty) Ziegler, MaryAnne (Jim) Connor, Ruthie (Duane) Maly, sister-in-law Gwen (Bill) O'Connor; many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.

In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry (Ada) and Donnie; three sisters, Florentine (Joe) Borrelli, Delores and Virginia.

Private family services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Merrimac. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
