MADISON/SUN PRAIRIE-Virginia “Ginny” M. Kaech went to her eternal rest on Dec. 9, 2013.
She was born in Portage on Nov. 26, 1923, the daughter of Estella (O’Malley) and Earl Peterson. She moved to Madison with her family in 1944. Ginny was united in marriage to James Kaech at St. Raephel Catholic Church on Oct. 20, 1945. She worked in early years at Badger Ordinance, The Emporium, and in later years, at Eagle Foods. Ginny was a former member of St. Raphael Catholic Church then St. Dennis Catholic Church for 58 years and in 2005 joined Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary when she moved to Sun Prairie. She was a member of Madison Catholic Women’s Club, St. Ann’s Society, and St. Mary’s Care Center Auxiliary. Ginny enjoyed traveling, bowling, gardening, and playing cards. She was also a Badger, Packer, and Brewer fan.
Ginny is survived by her children, Kate (Garland) Ross of Green Bay, Steve (Nancy) of Monona, Gary (Tonya) of Cottage Grove, Nancy (Mark) Schrimpf of Madison, and Tom (Donna) of DeForest; sister, Mary (Bob) Joachim of Madison; beloved grandchildren, Sean (Anne), Nathan (Steve), Andy, Stacy (Bob), Natalie (Dave), Ryan, Nicole (Josh), Amanda (Casey), Lindsay, Ashley (Jake), Taylor, Tianna, Sara (John), and Tyler (Megan); and great-grandchildren, Noah, Nick, Gracie, Cole, Chloe, Parker, Haven, Shyne, Tyler, Caleb, Ella, Grady, Ethan, Hendrix, Mason, Kylie, and Bennett. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Ray Peterson; and sisters, Elinor Skare and Helen Calkens.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at SACRED HEARTS OF JESUS AND MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 221 Columbus St., Sun Prairie, at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, with Monsignor Duane Moellenberndt presiding, with a luncheon to follow. Burial will take place at a later date as it was her wish to have her body donated to science. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from Noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013.
