MADISON/COLUMBUS—Sandra M. Thomsen age 71, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

She was born on May 6, 1942 in Mauston to Kenneth and Pearl (Baerwald) Heding. Sandra was married to Lester Thomsen on April 13, 1963 in Madison.

She was a teacher’s aid for the Madison School District for 20 years. She was formerly employed at Schoep’s Ice Cream in Madison. Sandra enjoyed reading and crocheting. She loved long walks in the woods at the cabin in Crandon.

Survivors include two sons, Eric (Julie) of Cottage Grove and Kenneth (Tonya) of Waukesha; one daughter, Raina (Kirk) McCauley of Columbus; seven grandchildren, Shanna, Tyler, Jackson and Jace Thomsen, Maggie, Maya and Alex McCauley; a great grandson, Toby Foss; three sisters, Linda Halverson of Stoughton, Donna (Doug) Johnson of Boscobel, Ronda (Scott) Pedley of Shullsburg; two brothers, Ronald (Heidi) Heding of Havelock NC and Richard Heding of Belleville; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband and great grandson, Theodore.

Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the JENSEN FUNERAL & CREMATION in Columbus.
