Madison: Robert James Orton, age 55, loving husband, brother, uncle and friend, passed away after a long illness on September 26, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by his family.

He was born on April 2, 1958 in Madison, the son of Margaret (Burmeister) Orton Imberg. Bob graduated from Madison West High School. After graduation he worked as a mechanic at various local companies. Bob began his career at Herman Landscaping where he worked for over 20 years; and then went on to work for the Bruce Company. Bob loved being outdoors he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time with his friends, family, and his best friend and loving wife of 22 years, Roberta. Bob and Roberta were married on July 20, 1991. Bob was devoted to his faith and family.

He is survived by his wife Roberta; brothers Ronald, Douglas (Vicki), and Gerald Orton, sisters Debra (Russ) Koenig, and Dyan Imberg; many nieces and nephews, and close friends Jeff and Teresa Kleinschmidt. Bob was preceded in death by his grandparents Ernest and Katherine Burmeister, and his mother Margaret.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at SAINT MARIA GORETTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5313 Flad Avenue, at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 1, 2013at JOYCE-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 5701 Odana Road, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m.
