Lillian Tomlinson

Madison Lillian Tomlinson, age 90, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014 with her family around her at Agrace HospiceCare, Fitchburg.

She was born October 8, 1923 in Madison, the youngest of eight children born to Charles and Lillian (Waldo) Badenna, Sr. She grew up in the Greenbush neighborhood and was proud of her Italian Heritage, her father having come from Bari, Italy. Lillian was married to Walter "Pete" Tomlinson on November 14, 1945 and he preceded her in death on her birthday in 1977.

Lillian loved to roller skate in her youth. She and her brother, Chuck, would work the concession stand for free skating. Her first job was at the old Madison general Hospital, working in the kitchen arranging and cleaning up dinner trays. She later worked for 20 years at the Red Dot Potato Chip factory on East Washington Avenue. She and her husband Pete belonged to the Atwood Squares and then the Boots and Slippers Square Dance Club where they made many friends.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Johnnie Badenna. Aunt Lil also leaves many nieces and nephews, great and great-great, who were all precious to her. Memories of her caring and generous love are a blessing to us all.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter; brothers, Joe, Charles, Jr., Ted, Tony, John and sisters, Theresa Cline and Anna Krajnak.

Her family extends a special thank you to the staff and residents at Karmenta Care Center and to the guardian Angels at Agrace HospiceCare for their support and kindness.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Avenue with Msgr. Charles Schluter officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Cottage Grove.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Memorials may be directed to Agrace HospiceCare, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI 53711 in Lil's memory. To view and sign this guestbook, please visit:
