REESEVILLE—Judianne Powers age 70, died on Monday, October 14, 2013 at the Columbus Community Hospital, Columbus.
She was an only child born to Reinhold and Anita (Rutz) Schmidt on June 28, 1943 in Milwaukee. Judianne was a 1961 graduate of Watertown High School. She was married to Stephen “Rudy” Powers on April 24, 1965 in Reeseville.
Judianne was formerly employed at the Columbus Care Center, Columbus Hospital, Wodill Florists and as a waitress at Bruce and Donna’s Tavern in Lowell. She was the bookkeeper for Powers Livestock Trucking until 1988. Judianne enjoyed gardening, cooking and canning. Judianne attended races with Rudy and enjoyed family holidays in Watertown. She loved the yearly family vacations at Round Lake in Wild Rose and Lake Metonga in Crandon. She couldn’t turn away a stray animal.
Survivors include two sons, Brian (Jennifer) of Waterloo, and Scott (Lisa) of Columbus; two daughters, Kelly (Todd) Konkel of Beaver Dam, and Amy Jo (Chris) Johnson of Rosemount MN; twelve grandchildren, Kyle, Cody, Landon, Harrison, Morgan, Adam, Ryan, Brittany, Ashly, Rylee, Myles and Carli; two great granddaughters, Serenity and Elora; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Rudy in 2011.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Friday, October 18, 2013 at ST COLUMBKILLE CATHOLIC CHURCH, Town of Elba. Rev Rick Wendell will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. at the church on Friday.
