Joann E. Kuhnhenn

Joann E. Kuhnhenn (nee Schumacher), 78, of Platteville, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Epione Pavilion in Cuba City, WI.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Lutheran Church of Peace, Platteville. Rev. Jeff Pedersen will officiate. Burial will be at Belmont Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Joann E. Kuhnhenn Memorial Fund. The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, is serving the family.

The youngest of five children, Joann was born to John and Myrtle (McReynolds) Schumacher on November 26, 1934 at the family farm west of Belmont, WI. She graduated from Belmont High School in 1952 and in October married Karl "Cubby" Niffenegger. To this union three children were born, daughters, Marianee (George) Taylor of Wheatland, WY; Heidi (Robin) Moody of Beulah, ND; and son, Jacob (Karen) Niffenegger of Belmont, WI. In 1975 Joann was married to Eugene Frontz until his death in 1983. She moved to Petoskey, MI and in April 1984 she was married to John "Jack" Kuhnhenn until his death in 1999. Three years after Jack's death, she returned to Platteville, WI. Joann was a member of the Lutheran Church of Peace.

Joann is survived by her children and their spouses, nine grandchildren, Jeremy (Leon), Barrett, Sarah, George, Clare, Megan (Ryan), Lyn, Tomi (Brandon), and Tia. Four great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Aubree, Brady, and Braxton and numerous nieces, nephews, step-children, Marsha, Steven, Teresa, Jim, Juanita, Keith, and Richard, sister-in-law, Rosalie Hirschbrunner, cousins, Ivan, Carl (Carolyn), Geneva (Harold) and Neva, and friends. Joann is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Guerdon, Elmer, and Herbert, sister Lorraine Lungerhausen, their spouses, and grand-daughter Trina Niffenegger.
