Madison – Helen I. (Hartz) Luedke, III passed away on January 9, 2014 at Capitol Lakes Retirement Community following a long struggle with Parkinson Disease.
Helen was born on October 21, 1935 in Stevens Point Wisconsin. Helen graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1954 and married William Raboin. The couple moved to Danville, Illinois and parented 3 children. Helen began her career with General Electric at that time. The marriage was dissolved and Helen moved her family to Connecticut.
Helen received her Bachelor’s Degree from Sacred Heart University and Master's Degree in Business from Columbia University. Helen was the Manager of Employee Relations at the General Electric headquarters in Fairfield Connecticut.
In 1986, Helen married William T. Luedke, III, another GE executive, and they retired from the company. Helen spent her retirement years with Bill entertaining in their lovely homes, traveling and relaxing on Sanibel Island. Helen served on the boards of The Westport Woman's Club and The Westport Historical society. Helen was also an active resident, serving on multiple boards at Capital Lakes Retirement Community. All the while Helen shopped!
Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Bill and is survived by her brother, John Hartz, of Roscoe, Illinois, her sisters Priscella Osborne and Prudance Kennedy, of Danville, Illinois, and three children: Cheri Raboin of Madison, Wisconsin, William Raboin and Robin Hanson, of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, 5 grandchildren: Tasha Morgan, Miranda Feldman, Shannon Raboin, Jessica Urbach, Amber Hanson, and Si Hanson,as well as 8 great grand children. Helen is also survived by three step-children: William T. Luedke IV of Houston, Texas, Fred Carl Ludwig (“Fritz”) Luedke, of Dallas Texas and Ann Luedke-Lobdell of Stonington, Connecticut, along with 4 additional grandchildren: Sarah Lobdell, Brian Lobdell, Hannah Luedke and Phyllis Luedke.
A service will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at CAPITOL LAKES GRAND HALL, 333 W. Main St, Madison, on Saturday, January 25, 2014, with Rev. Guta Cvetkovic presiding.
In lieu of customary remembrances, contributions in memory of Helen Luedke, III can be made to Ministering Angels Closet, 1882 Riverview Acres, Hudson, WI 54016.
