Verona-Gary L. Rogness of Verona, age 59, died on Monday, July 8, 2013.

Gary was born on July 19, 1954, in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, to E. Paul and Donna (Christopherson) Rogness. Gary’s family moved to Verona in 1967, where he was a 1972 graduate of Verona High School and then continued his education at U.W. Platteville.

Anyone who knew Gary was sure to appreciate his quick wit and never ending sense of humor. No one could tell a story, a joke or zing you with a one-liner like he could, followed by his contagious laugh. To say fishing was important in his lifetime is an understatement, as Gary loved to fish and was eager to share his knowledge of the sport. As an avid outdoorsman he also enjoyed hunting. Gary was meticulous in the upkeep of his yard, which is the envy of many passersby. For these and many other wonderful qualities, he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and a multitude of neighbors he selflessly helped over the years.

Gary is survived by his wife of 40 years, Karen (Killian), son Tom Rogness, daughter and son-in-law Teresa and Jon Bublitz, granddaughters Taylor and Camryn Bublitz, mother Donna Rogness, siblings Greg, Vicky (Del), and Randy (Barb). Further survived by parents-in-law Jim and Jeanne Killian, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Kathy (Bob), Kris, Keith (Judy), numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his father, E. Paul Rogness.

You will be missed Gary Lee.

Visitation will be held at Ryan Funeral Home at 220 South Enterprise Drive, Verona, WI, from 10am to 1pm on Saturday, July 13, 2013.
