MADISON-Clayton N. Carson “Pete”, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, in Madison.
He was born on Jan. 23, 1931, in Madison, the son of Clair and Flossie (Ellis) Carson. He married Lois Dyer on July 28, 1951, in Texas. Pete was in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for over 36 years.
Pete enjoyed sports, hunting, fishing and mall walking. He and his wife also enjoyed camping on Lake George for over 35 years.
Pete is survived by his wife, Lois; children, Neal, Dean, Karen (Tom) Carson Wagner and Gary (Mary); two grandchildren, Katie (Derek) Wagner and Jean (Brandon) Roe; five great-grandchildren, Korrin, Quentin, Kayli, Teagan and Carson; a brother, John “Jack” (Alvina); and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Friday, July 18, 2014, with the Rev. Patrick Siegler presiding. Entombment with military rights will be held at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice.
