VERONA- Calvin “Cal” Wendt, Sr., age 66, passed away after a brief illness on November 12, 2013.
e was born on June 2, 1947, in Black Earth, the son of Oscar and Rena (Finke) Wendt, Sr.
He married Shirley “Sam” Pulver on July 9, 1994. Cal worked at Middleton Farmer’s Co-op before owning Wendt’s Bar and Grill in Black Earth with his wife. He was an avid Packers and Badgers fan.
He is survived by his children, Stephanie (Dave) Kutzke, and Calvin “CD” (Ashley) Wendt, Jr.; a grandson, Colton Wendt; brothers, Vern (Brenda) Wendt and Vince (Phyllis) Wendt; sisters-in-law, Linda (Dave) Peterson, Bette (Mike) Knick, and Kari (Chris) Miller; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sam; his parents; and a nephew, Tim Knick.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, November, 17, 2013, at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, VERONA CHAPEL, 220 Enterprise Drive.
