Blanche Sturdevant, age 82 of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin passed away peacefully Thursday, February 20, 2014 at American Way in Portage, Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Dells with Reverend Craig Wolfgram officiating. Burial will be at Newport Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church on Tuesday from 9 until the time of services at 11 a.m.
Blanche was born December 13, 1931 the daughter of Leonard and Bonita (Rickert) Thompson. In October of 1957 she married Harold Sturdevant. She was an inspiring woman to many and was a member of the Jaycettes, Lionesses, and the church sewing group where she contributed to many, many quilts that were sent to other countries. She enjoyed gardening, loved making quilts, knitting and spending time with her grandchildren, Scott Sturdevant and Mollie Monson.
She will be missed by many, but her family, (children, Jim Sturdevant, Carol Sturdevant, D.D. Sturdevant and Mark Sturdevant) have been blessed with the time they had with their mother and the memories made. She is further survived by a brother, Lester Thompson, and sisters, Melva Pickel, Karen Nodolf and Susan Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister, Elaine Sturdevant.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Bethany Lutheran Church.
