Arthur “Art” John Shackleton, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg.
He was born December 4, 1930 to the late Claude C. and Regina M. (Froh) Shackleton. He was united in marriage to A. Barbra Anderson November 10, 1951. Art was a Wisconsin State Patrol Officer for over 25 years, and later the Safety Director for Fuchs Trucking. He was a member of the Greening-Buelow American Legion Post 437 of Mazomanie, and lifetime member of the Mazomanie Historical Society. He enjoyed spending time on the Wisconsin River, hunting, fishing, and with his family and friends.
Art is survived by his children, Pam (Ron) Smith, Stoughton, Tim (Patty) Shackleton, Fitchburg, Sue (Dennis) Sagami, Mazomanie, Mary Jo (Kyle Kress) Dushack, Sun Prairie, David (Tina) Shackleton, Mazomanie, Elizabeth (Doug) Walby, Charlotte, Michigan; foster sons, Randy (Julie) Ursino, Springfield, Missori, Ronnie Ursino, Towonda, Kansas; 15 grandchildren, Brianna, Courtney, Dan, Andrew, Josh (Kristen), Jordan, Kiah, Patrick, Paul, Kasha, Kennedy, Aiden, Ryan, Allison, Lanae; one great-grandson, Collen; 3 siblings, Kathleen Randall, Mazomanie, Larry (Florence) Shackleton, Cherry Valley, CA., John Shackleton, Mazomanie; further survived by other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife on July 13, 1998.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Hwy 14 West Mazomanie. Interment will be held in the Mazomanie Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Mazomanie Historical Society or Agrace Hospice.
