Michael R. Seitz, 58, of Chippewa Falls, WI formerly of Platteville and Belmont, Wisconsin, died on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Lutheran Church of Peace, Platteville. Rev. Jeff Pedersen will officiate. Burial will be at the Belmont Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Platteville Arboretum Fund, as Mike spent many years of his youth on the Rountree branch.

Mike was born on July 29, 1954 in Belmont, Wisconsin, the son of Donald and Delores (Durni) Seitz. Mike served in the United States Army being stationed in Germany, and later attended UW-Platteville, and Southwest Technical College, Fennimore. He worked at Cray Computers in Chippewa Falls for many years and earned a patent in 1991. Most recently he worked at Hutchinson Technology, Eau Claire. Mike was always athletic and adventurous. He loved dog sledding and spent many hours kayaking with his daughter on Duncan Creek in front of his house in Chippewa Falls. During his high school yeawrs he broke and held the pole vault record at Platteville High School. He enjoyed woodcarving, golfing, biking, hiking and the outdoors.
Mike is survived by his daughter, Katja Seitz of Madison; parents, Don and Delores Seitz of Platteville; brother, Donald (Gretchen) Seitz of Harris, MN; sister, Patricia (Eric) Gray of Minneapolis, MN; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Faune and Ida Durni and Leo and Ella Seitz.
