MADISON, Wis. -

A man who attempted to rob a credit union on Madison’s east side Thursday morning left empty-handed, according to police.

Officers were called to Heritage Credit Union at 2555 Shopko Dr. at 11:02 a.m. for a report of a robbery.

The robber passed a note to a teller before leaving, according to police. Officers are looking for him.

The man is described as black, in his 20s, 6 feet 6 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing a dark jacket, and a multi-colored hat, and was carrying a clear plastic backpack.
